About Me

I’m a web developer with a strong interest in education and language-learning. My background in Informatics (B.A.) and Education (M.S.) has given me a unique perspective on how people learn and interact with technology, helping me build websites and applications that prioritize ease-of-use and accessibility.

I began my career as a web developer, designing and developing websites across various industries. Later, I motived to Japan in 2017 to work as an English educator where I also occasionally gave lectures about education and language-learning at yearly volunteer events. These experiences have given me a better understanding of communication between Japanese and English speakers, problem-solving, and adaptability. I’ve now returned to web development, and am combing my technical skills with insights I gained from teaching and working in Japan.

I am currently based in Hokkaido, actively working on freelance and personal projects. I also still contribute as a web developer and designer for Hokkaido’s largest volunteer organization for English teachers.

Language Learning

Living and working in Japan has helped me to obtain a JLPT N2 (business level) certification. I’ve also assisted some volunteer projects translating and localizing material from Japanese to English.

Beyond Development

Outside of programming, I am interested in education, technology, and martial arts. I currently hold a 3rd degree black belt (三段) in Kyudo (Japanese archery). Kyudo helps me develop focus and patience which translates well to work. I’m always looking forward to new opportunities to learn and improve both myself and what I create.
